Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy attended the registration process in Hyderabad today and said the ongoing caste survey in Telangana is a much-needed initiative toward addressing the socio-economic realities of the state.
The Chief Minister urged the collecting of accurate, comprehensive data to support targeted and effective policymaking while attending the caste survey registration at Hyderabad. Important guests included Collector Anudeep of Hyderabad and GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi besides CM Special Secretary Ajith Reddy.
Equality and Inclusivity
The caste survey is to be conducted to gather data on social, economic, educational, and employment parameters. It will enable policymakers to bridge the inequalities and formulate targeted welfare programs. The survey also covers political representation and caste demographics to ensure equal opportunities for all communities. According to Revanth Reddy, the survey is not just a bureaucratic exercise but a step toward empowering the marginalized sections of society.
Public Participation and Special Drives
The CM discussed the progress of the survey and appreciated public response, however, requested officials to heighten awareness activities so that maximum people could take part. “No group should be left out,” he said. Special drives will be conducted so that data from VVIPs such as IAS and IPS officers, MPs, MLAs, and other representatives is also collected. At every level, the government aims at inclusiveness.
Role of Government Employees
The CM highlighted the crucial role that government employees played in giving the survey a much-needed credibility. He issued directives to them for their active participation. He mentioned that their involvement would further strengthen the legitimacy of the survey and make it reach further. “Government employees are the backbone of our administration,” he remarked.
Time-Bound Completion
He asked the officers to conduct the survey quickly, however without losing the accuracy of the data. He explained that the timely completion will help provide an opportunity to initiate the welfare and development programs.
Reddy suggested using additional resources, persons and technology to hasten the process.
Issues to be Resolved
Officials briefed the CM about logistical challenges and public resistance faced while conducting the survey. Special teams will be sent to spread awareness and increase participation in the resistant areas. The CM also stressed the need to maintain data privacy to sustain public trust and avoid misuse.
