Hyderabad: 24 January 2025 : Telangana Raj Bhavan experienced a zest of cultural pride and bonhomie with it hosting Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day. Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma was present as Chief Guest and greeted the people of Uttar Pradesh on their statehood day in warm words.
In his speech, the Governor recognized the immense contributions of people of Uttar Pradesh who have adopted Telangana as their home. He praised their contribution towards the development of the state through various professions and businesses. “The people of Uttar Pradesh have enriched Telangana with their talent and dedication, strengthening the bond between the two states,” he said.
The Governor said that the historical relation between Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad spans thousands of years and for centuries, these two regions have been connected through trade, culture, and human engagement in various walks of life. He praised the ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative as an excellent step towards fostering unity in diversity all over the country.
Glimpse of Heritage of Uttar Pradesh
The Governor called Uttar Pradesh as the “heart of India”, a land known for its vibrancy, a hub of traditional cultures and traditions. He elaborated that such an unmatched place is nothing less than “ayam antardesh ka ant”, since it houses not just one place, but more sacredly all: Ayodhya as birth place of Lord Rama; Mathura that hosts birthplace of Lord Krishna; spiritual city of Varanasi, and then the religious Sangam that combines Triveni into itself.
The Governor explained that Uttar Pradesh is a land with a rich heritage that molded the spiritual and cultural identity of India and inspired the nation. No occasion passed without getting valuable addresses by some distinguished personalities sharing their views on the event:
Sri Burra Venkatesham, IAS (VRS), Chairman, TGPSC, spoke on the cultural integration and oneness while celebrating the statehood of a place.
Dr. Ravi Gupta IPS, Special Chief Secretary Home Department reflected on the contributions of the people of Uttar Pradesh in the governance and society of India. Dr. Shashank Goel, IAS, Director-General, Dr. MCR HRD emphasized education and governance to strengthen national unity.
Sri Ajay Mishra, IAS (Retd), Chairman, IRCS and Smt Shalini Mishra, IAS (Retd) Member Central Administrative Tribunal Hyderabad addressed anecdotes about personal experiences while interacting where one celebrated the richness of this cultural and social state.
Col Anupam Singh and Shri Aditya Om, actor articulated on arts, cinema, and armed forces of the state.
The event also featured dignified guests who hail from Uttar Pradesh and are presently staying in Hyderabad, officials, staff of Raj Bhavan, and Smt. G. Pallavi, Deputy Secretary to the Governor amongst others.
Oneness and Wholeness
Interaction with the participants over high tea by the Governor and the First Lady, as an example, gave a personal colour to the event and evoked a sense of oneness and jubilation about this deep cultural bonding and shared desire between Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
