
The objection process pertaining to the change of name and addition of synonyms for eight back castes named in the backward classes of society has been closed today 18th Jan 2025. Earlier BC Commission, on January 3, 2025, released an official notification which had reflected those name changing and synonyms alteration with giving 15 days from their side so that it was available in there.
Representatives of all caste communities were actively participating in the submission process and had lodged more than 500 objections and appeals to be presented as affidavits in the form at the Commission’s office in Khairatabad.
Now the BC Commission will start scrutinizing all these affidavits and objections. The name change decisions should be informed ones; the commission promised special attention should be given to castes with derogatory names in society so that the culture and traditions of castes of Telangana are retained. The commission said that due to this name change, no student, youth, or employee belonging to their respective castes would feel low about themselves.

In addition to that, they also looked for inclusion of the “Bhunjwa” caste in the list for removal of district restrictions and also “Dhangar” caste from the merged Adhilabad district, who is originally by traditional occupation breeding of sheep and goats into the BC list.
This involved a procedure involving caste associations; these were led by BC Commission Chairman G. Niranjan along with Rapolu Jayaprakash, Tirumalagiri Surender, Balalakshmi Ranga, Satish Kumar, Special Officer Lakshminarayana, and the Research Officer.
