In a felicitation ceremony of Gaddar Jayanti Sabha, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy gave an impassioned speech for the cause of the great revolutionary poet and activist Gaddar. In that way, the function proved to be an eloquent testimony to the man’s glorious past, which embodied inspiration, fearlessness, and a steadfast stand for society.
Gaddar: A People’s Leader
Reiterating that Gaddar was a “people’s warship,” Revanth Reddy said, “His family sacrificed everything and slept for nights for the people’s sake.” The Chief Minister pointed to how Gaddar’s commitment toward social upliftment continues to inspire generations.
A Personal Connection
CM Reddy said he personally shared a bond with Gaddar, in whose name the support received from the legendary figure during the political challenging times were recalled. “Whenever I felt lonely in the last ten years, I would talk to Gaddar. His recognition of people’s struggles gave me immense inspiration,” he said, referring to the activist’s deep empathy and guidance.
Gaddar’s Legacy PRESERVATION
Telangana Government to immortalize the legacy of Gaddar The Telangana government, which realizes the gigantic contribution of Gaddar, is taking its biggest steps for immortalizing his legacy. “We have constituted the Gaddar Award and have entrusted it with Bhatti Vikramarka,” declared CM Reddy. The government has planned to conduct Gaddar’s birthday and death anniversary to inspire generations.
There will be a Gaddar memorial on Knuckles Road; that, to be honest, will last as long as his life and ideological contributions do.
Honouring Great Minds
The Chief Minister expressed disappointment that the Central government had not sanctioned Padma Awards to names like Gaddar, Chukka Ramaiah, Ande Sri, Jayadhir Tirumal Rao, and Goreti Venkanna, who are crucial to Telangana. “Why five winners of Telangana in this prestigious Padma Awards are presented as secondary to the recipients of neighboring states?” he asked. He ensured that in case such stars are not represented in the list by the Centre, then recognition shall be extended by the state government.
Social Justice and Inclusive Governance
Social justice, the Chief Minister claimed, was again the emphasis in his government. He cited promotion of the first Dalit Vice Chancellor in the 50-year history of Osmania University and naming a women’s university after Chakali Ailamma as efforts put in for empowering the lower sections of society.
Taking a Stand Against Defiance
As if fortifying a powerful statement against political opponents, especially the BJP, CM Reddy warned, “The gates of those who made Gaddar sit outside have been broken. If Gaddaranna is insulted again, remember that your party office is in his state—we’ll rename that place after Gaddaranna.”
Gaming Forward with Inspiration
As the Telangana government continued to pay tribute to Gaddar, CM Reddy asked people to appreciate such efforts. He concluded emotionally, “The Kohinoor diamond’s price never goes down, and the respect for Gaddar never goes down too.”
This tribute by CM Revanth Reddy marks Gaddar’s indelible impact on Telangana’s social and political landscape and stands as a powerful reminder to cherish and honor those who dedicate their lives to justice and equality.
