Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Charlapalli new railway terminal station virtually. The new terminal station in Medchal-Malkajgiri district has been developed as a new coaching terminal along with provision of second entry with a cost of around Rs.413 crore. This environment friendly terminal, having good passenger amenities, will ease congestion on the existing coaching terminals in the city like Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda.
Nearly 24 trains will be operating daily from the Charlapalli terminal.
As this one will also work like a hub of goods trains, so it will further help in the development of Hyderabad’s industrial sector. This new terminal is well equipped with all modern facilities, such as a spacious circulating area where proper parking space has been arranged for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers, and a dedicated bus bay for buses.
The redevelopment will enable the introduction of new train services, where a few Sankranthi special trains are going to be run from this station.
The new terminal will provide a more improved experience for passengers through modern amenities, connectivity, and comfort and convenience for the traveling public. On the occasion, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister of State for Railways V Sommana and other dignitaries were present.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy attended the ceremony virtually.
