
Hyderabad, January 25 – On the 15th National Voters Day, Governor Jishnu Dev Verma urged citizens to become a part of the electoral process and said voting is the transformative power of democracy. The celebration was done with great enthusiasm and vigor at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad.
He termed the voting process the backbone of democracy in his address to the nation. Governor Verma appreciated the unwavering efforts of the ECI to ensure free and fair elections. He stressed the need to involve the youth in the democratic process and specifically appealed to first-time voters, urging them to take on their responsibility by getting registered and voting.

“Every vote has the potential to shape the future of our nation,” the Governor said. “National Voters Day reminds us of our duty as citizens to uphold democracy by participating in elections.”
Governor Verma reminded that the Constitution created the ECI 75 years ago to safeguard electoral integrity and recalled the founding vision of the Constitution. He appreciated the efforts of the institution to make voter registration easier, more aware, and to encourage more voters to participate.
Young voters are the future of India, he said, urging first-time voters to be actively involved in strengthening the nation’s progress. He praised Telangana for the transparent electoral processes which are well-managed.

State Election Officer (CEO) Sudarshan Reddy repeated the words of the Governor, “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure.” He was urging all eligible voters to strengthen the democratic fabric of India.

Distribution of EPICs: Governor Verma distributed Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) among new eligible voters, marking them as entrants in the electoral process.
Honouring Senior Voters: Senior voters were feted for their continuity in exercising the democratic franchise.

Excellence Awards: District collectors, officers and booth level officials have been rewarding for valuable contribution towards conducting the elections. Certificate issuing has also been done for the winners of State-level Essay and Quiz Competitions. Cultural and Educational Activities. The event included a lively cultural program, which showed Telangana’s artistic talent and had performances emphasizing the importance of voting. A short film was screened that featured the state icons pledging for voter participation. A collective voter pledge was also taken by all assembled to reiterate commitment to democracy.

Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Elambardi gave the vote of thanks, acknowledging all participants. State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini, Additional CEO Lokesh Kumar, Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durisetty, and officials, students, and members of the public attended the event. Youth organizations and NCC cadets also participated with their enthusiastic presence in the celebrations.
