Delhi: Chief Minister Revant Reddy visited his official residence to assume the problems associated with the management of the state’s water resources by conducting a detailed review of the Water Supply Department. The prime discussion at the high level included collecting officials and key stakeholders in this case. In fact, there existed Minister for State Water Resources Department, Uttam Kumar Reddy; ministers Sridharbabu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy; state sovereign chief executive Shanti Kumari; and Chief Minister chief executive officer V. Sheshadri to strategize effectively over the plans to improve the water infrastructures and the supply systems in the state.
The review was purely aimed at developing water supply distribution systems in the state. The discussions brought forth the fact that the old-age water pipelines needed to be upgraded, leakage levels needed to be reduced, and a steady flow of water should be maintained both in urban and rural areas. According to the Chief Minister, only by modernizing the existing infrastructure would it be possible to increase the supply to meet the needs of rapidly expanding regions.
It also discussed another critical issue, which is the issue of lack of water in rural and low-economic zones. The government has decided to start sustainable water resources and to implement measures for providing water on a fair scale. Special focus has been given in drought-prone areas to produce long-term solutions and to formulate communities as effective interfaces with people to manage the resources effectively.
The discussion revolved around incorporating technology into water management. State authorities would explore the possibility of using high-end tools such as GIS mapping, IoT-based monitoring systems, and automation of the network for the distribution of waters. All these high-end technologies would enable efficiency and less waste within the operations with real-time water consumption and availability.
Public awareness measures were also important in the meeting. The officers said it was very essential to educate the public on how to conserve water and use it. Promotional activities, such as education to the family level which enhances saving water in the home, are supposed to be initiated in establishing a sustainable future for the utilization of the water resource in the state.
Clean and enough water is one of the fundamental rights of each citizen,” Chief Minister Revant Reddy said. The state government would improve the infrastructure in tandem with advanced technology and cooperation of people from different sections for ensuring an uninterrupted water supply to all houses, the chief minister said.
The conference concluded with a road map of short-term and long-term action plans. This includes additional funding for the enhancement of water infrastructure, cooperation with private enterprises and NGOs in the augmentation of water conservation efforts, and focused task forces for tracking the pace. These are going to be the initiatives by the state towards the establishment of a strong and sustainable water supply system for its people.
