Telangana: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented a landmark vision speech at the CII National Council meeting in Hyderabad. Titled “Telangana Rising,” it marked Telangana completing its first decade after its formation and is focused on development across various sectors with plans to position Telangana as a global innovation and sustainability hub.
Future City: A Glimpse into Tomorrow
The core idea of CM Reddy’s speech at CII National Council meeting. was the Future City, which would alter the face of the city, at par with what metropolises New York, London, Tokyo, and Dubai were doing. It would be a net-zero, pollution-free urban center. It would focus solely on the service sector and integrate the latest green technologies. The CM declared Telangana as the leadership state of electric mobility. This was underlined by 3,200 electric buses introduced to RTC along with a bouquet of incentives such as zero registration and road tax for electric vehicles. Telangana has emerged as the fastest-growing EV market in India.
Hyderabad: Resilience and Sustainability
Two of the most prominent agendas in the speech of the Chief Minister were strength against natural disasters and the future vision for sustainable urban infrastructure for Hyderabad. Revival of the Musi River, which would help create a 55-kilometer stretch of fresh water flow, will ensure that Hyderabad is flood-free. Drinking water requirements till 2050 have already started being advanced.
Another major initiative is the mega Regional Ring Road (RRR), a 360-kilometer ring road around the city. In addition to this, the state has planned a regional ring railway and radial roads connecting the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and RRR. The region between these two rings is being developed as a manufacturing hub, with focus on industries like pharmaceuticals, life sciences, aerospace, defense, EVs, and solar energy.
Investment in the Rural and Urban Economy of Telangana
The government of rural Telangana would invest in agriculture, wherein the focus areas would be organic farming, cold storage facilities, and warehouses. In this regard, the CM has announced that there will be a dry port at Telangana since the state doesn’t have any coastline. It would be an all-weather connection with Bandar Port at Andhra Pradesh for trade and export purposes.
Hyderabad: The Plus City for China
CM Revanth Reddy said he wanted to make Hyderabad the “plus city” for China in the world scenario. Strongly focusing on skill development and job creation, the state is putting all prerequisites in place for a free-market economy and creating an atmosphere that encourages investment and innovation.
Investment Call
He closed his speech on a confident pitch to the investor, promising to do business at an international standard ease. “Come join us and invest in Telangana,” he beckoned the industries to come partner with the State on this great transformative journey. “Let’s create magic—not only across India but globally also,” he averred.
