
Brisbane, Queensland: Under the leadership of Jitendher Reddy Garu, a delegation from Telangana visited Queensland, Australia, to analyze world-class sports infrastructure and training facilities. This exercise serves as a means to adapt all international practices that will enhance sports development in Telangana. The delegation included Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, and Soni Bala Devi, IFS.
Bonding with Trade and Investment Queensland
The Telangana delegation was officially welcomed by Trade and Investment Queensland, which is an important facilitator of international partnerships. During the introduction session, the senior government stakeholders presented an overview of Queensland’s strengths in sports infrastructure, alongside a broader industry goal overview.

Meeting at Populous offices
They met with the company Populous, which is known worldwide for architectural and design consultancy services in designing sports arenas, stadiums, and convention centers. The meeting dealt with contemporary ideas in designing great sports facilities as well as best management practices. These will go into the shaping of Telangana’s sports infrastructure.
Griffith University Nathan Campus
They were taken to Griffith University’s Nathan Campus. Here, they could witness firsthand the developed sports programs the university has in place. This university is so famous for giving birth to Olympic medalists who can easily rub shoulders with academia and sports at the same time. The delegation from Telangana looked into systems and programs that promote high-performance sports that support education among athletes.
University of Queensland St Lucia Campus
The delegation visited the University of Queensland, one of the best institutions in Australia, for sports science and innovation. The research facilities, innovation programs, and sports management initiatives were discussed at the university. These will help shape the Telangana sports development programs.
