In a respite for schoolchildren, Telangana will witness a three-day holiday from April 12 to 14, 2025. The mini break comes due to the second Saturday on April 12, Sunday on the 13th, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti, which falls on Monday, April 14.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti is a state holiday honoring the birthday of the father of the Indian Constitution. Government offices, schools, and most private institutions will be closed on this day in respect, giving students and workers a long weekend.
This festival comes at the time when students are finishing their school year, and for most, it’s a break before the madness of final exams or the start of summer vacations. According to reports, most schools in Telangana will formally begin their summer vacations from April 24, with over 40 days of holidays planned.
The three-day break holiday is sure to put smile on students, majority of whom have been under tremendous pressure from studying as a consequence of back-to-back tests. It also offers an opportunity to families to enjoy some quality time together or book short holidays in the state.
While the holiday season is a time to unwind, education experts are cautioning students against wasting it — blending rest with judicious revision. “Even short break like these can bring in efficiency and mental well-being if put to good use,” says educational advisor Dr. Ramesh Goud in Hyderabad.
Parents are being advised also, with temperatures soaring in Telangana to ensure the child stays hydrated and finds some time to move around indoors during their day off from the blazing afternoon sun.
As the academic year is near conclusion, students could look forward to extra days off with summer vacation just around the corner. Until then, these three days off turn into an eagerly looked forward-to break for thousands of students across the state.
